PCCL among three of the finalists of EARTO 2016

PCCL and its long-time partner Semperit are nominated for the european innovation award EARTO 2016 for the world´s first anti-allergen surgical gloves Sempermed® Syntegra UV.

As part of the research project OPtima a top-level consortium with the participation of PCCL aims to improve the production of plastic components for semiconductor machines.
Since its foundation, Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL) has steadily developed its expertise for innovative solutions with plastics and increased its headcount to more than 100. Upon having been awarded the status of a K1 centre of excellence, PCCL has now arrived in the Champions League.
Polymers, published by MDPI, is a fully open-access journal, providing unrestricted access to its scientific contents. With its current impact factor of 3.7, it is ranked in the first quadrantile of polymer journals (position 13 of 82).

The PCCL and Kunststofftechnik Leoben had the honor to welcome a high level delegation of the Institute of Polymer Processing Aachen in Leoben.
Since its inception in 2002, the PCCL enables women equal opportunities in research and technology. That the strategic measures taken are bearing fruit can be shown not only by a women's quota of 44% but in particular by the successful female researchers at the PCCL. Hence Ms. Simone Radl was awarded the Josef Krainer Promotion Award 2016 for her work on "Smart Polymers".
The AUSTRIAN STANDARDS - the platform for the creation of standards in Austria - awards the LIVING STANDARDS AWARD to companies for exemplary services around standards. The PCCL - in close cooperation with the Department Polymer Engineering and Science of the Montanuniversität Leoben - received the LIVING STANDARDS AWARD 2016 for the development of a testing method for durability of gas- and waterpipes.
An artificial human skull for surgical implants that comes directly from a 3-D-printer? This doesn´t exist? It does, because with plastic materials almost everthing is possible! Students of HTL Kapfenberg could get in touch with these kind of topics during "Take Tech 2015" at Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Department of Polymer Engineering and Science.
